Book 23: Isaiah

Isaiah 2:19 “And they shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth.”
Isaiah 8:1 “Moreover the LORD said unto me, Take thee a great roll. And write in it with a man’s pen concerning Ma’-her-shal’-al-hash’-baz."
Isaiah 13:6 “Howl ye; for the day of the LORD is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty. Therefore shall all hands be faint, and every man’s heart shall melt: And they shall be afraid: pangs and sorrows shall take hold of them; they shall be in pain as a woman that travaileth: they shall be amazed one at another; their faces shall be as flames.
Isaiah 19:14 “The LORD hath mingled a perverse spirit in the midst thereof: and they have caused E’-gypt to err in every work thereof, as a drunken man staggereth in his vomit.”
Isaiah 24:1 “Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty, and maketh it waste, and turneth it upside down, and scattereth abroad the inhabitants thereof. And it shall be, as with the people, so with the priest; as with the servant, so with his master; as with the maid, so with her mistress; as with the buyer, so with the seller; as with the lender, so with the borrower; as with the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him. The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken this word. The earth mourneth and fadeth away, the world languisheth and fadeth away, the haughty people of the earth do languish. The earth also is deflied under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant. Therefore hath the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left.”
Isaiah 29:7 “And the multitude of all the nations that fight against A’-ri-el, even all that fight against her and her munition, and that distress her, shall be as a dream of a night vision.”
Isaiah 34:5 “For my sword shall be bathed in heaven: behold, it shall come down upon I-du-me’-a, and upon the people of my curse, to judgement. The sword of the LORD is filled with blood, it is made fat with fatness, and with the blood of lambs and goats, with the fat of the kidneys of rams: for the LORD hath a sacrifice in Boz’-rah, and a great slaughter in the land of I-du-me’-a. And the unicorns shall come down with them, and the bullocks with the bulls; and their land shall be soaked with blood, and their dust made fat with fatness. For it is the day of the LORD’s vengeance, and the year of recompenses for the controversy of Zi’-on.”
Isaiah 39:1 “At that time Mer’-o-dach-bal’-a-dan, the son of Bal’-a-dan, king of Bab’-y-lon, sent letters and a present to Hez-e-ki’-ah: for he had heard that he had been sick, and was recovered. And Hez-e-ki’-ah was glad of them and shewed them the house of his precious things, the silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the precious ointment, and all the house of his armour, and all that was found in his treasures: there was nothing in his house, nor in all his dominion, that Hez-e-ki’-ah shewed them not.”
Isaiah 43:20 “The beast of the field shall honour me, the dragons and the owls: because I give water in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, my chosen. This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise.”
Isaiah 47:11 “Therefore shall evil come upon thee; thou shalt not know from whence it riseth: and mischief shall fall upon thee; thou shalt not be able to put it off: and desolation shall come upon thee suddenly, which thou shalt not know.”
Isaiah 50:1 “Thus saith the LORD, Where is the bill of your mother’s divorcement, whom I have put away? Or which of my creditors is it to whom I have sold you? Behold, for your iniquities have ye sold yourselves, and for your transgressions is your mother put away. Wherefore when I came, was there no man? When I was called was there none to answer? Is my hand shortened at all, that it cannot redeem? Or have I no power to deliver? Behold, at my rebuke I dry up the sea, I make the rivers a wilderness: their fish stinketh, because there is no water and dieth for thirst.“
Isaiah 63:2 “Wherefore art thou red in thine apparel, and thy garments like him that treadeth in the winefat? I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the people there was none with me: for I will tread them in mine anger, and trample them in my fury; and their blood shall be sprinkled upon my garments, and I will stain all my raiment. For the day of vengeance is in mine heart, and the year of my redeemed is come.”
